Every great institution begins as an idea. For Norrenberger, that idea was simple; to create a financial services brand that people could trust, one that would unlock opportunities and enable possibilities for Nigerians everywhere.
Seven years later, that idea has grown into a thriving ecosystem of businesses, products, and services. But what makes this journey remarkable isn’t just the milestones – it’s the story behind them.
From Small Steps to Bold Moves
When Norrenberger was incorporated in 2017 and began operations in 2018, we were a modest capital market institution with a big vision. The early years were about building strong foundations: acquiring Fedeth MFB (now Clearpay MFB), transforming TFS into Norrenberger Securities, and introducing Transkredit. Each of these steps wasn’t just about growth – it was about building credibility, one decision at a time.
Even through the pandemic, we kept moving forward. That resilience became part of our DNA.
Defining Chapters
Then came the bigger moves that began to define who we are. The acquisition of IEI Anchor Pensions (now Norrenberger Pensions) and International Energy Insurance signalled that Norrenberger was not just growing, but reshaping Nigeria’s financial services space.
By 2023, we took another leap; a majority stake in The Infrastructure Bank, the opening of offices in Lagos and Port Harcourt, and recognition at the BAFI Awards for Deal of the Year and Innovative Fund Manager of the Year.
When we thought the story couldn’t get better, 2024 reminded us that growth has no finish line. We became a holding company, listed innovative funds on the NGX, were appointed to manage the Nigeria Global Diaspora Fund, and ended the year ranked among Nigeria’s Top 9 Fund Managers.
A New Chapter: 2025
This year, the story continues with fresh pages. A new Asset Management office in Gurara, Abuja, and a Kano branch to bring financial inclusion closer to Northern Nigeria.
Our Economic Outlook Report has become a go-to resource for policymakers and industry leaders, cementing our place as not just a participant in the market, but a thought leader shaping its future.
The Road Ahead
If the last seven years have taught us anything, it’s that the best stories are always unfinished. Ahead lies expansion into new markets, innovative products, and a stream of innovations designed to put practical financial solutions in more Nigerian homes.
By 2026, we are determined to achieve our ambition of becoming a Top 10 non-bank financial institution in Nigeria, not just in size, but in impact.
7 and Beyond
Our theme this year, “7 and Beyond – Honouring Our Past, Inspiring Our Future,” is more than a slogan. It’s a reflection of where we have been, and a declaration of where we’re going.
The past seven years have been about courage, resilience, and execution. The years ahead will be about scale, innovation, and transformation.
This 7 and beyond.
