Norrenberger Partners with Run Club Abuja to Empower the Alheri Leprosy Community Through Medical Resources

Abuja, Nigeria [October 1, 2024]: Norrenberger, an industry-leading, integrated Financial Services Group, through its headline sponsorship of the 2024 Charity Half Marathon Abuja, provided medical resources to the Alheri Leprosy community in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory. The event, powered by Run Club Abuja, occurred on October 1, 2024, at the Alheri Village where antibiotics, anti-malaria, intravenous Infusions and many other medical consumables were officially commissioned.

In addition to medical supplies, two dedicated medical personnel were assigned to provide care to the community from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025. Norrenberger, through its headline sponsorship of the Charity Half Marathon Abuja, is dedicated to fulfilling its Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability (CS&R) initiative. Several key members of the community were in attendance including Norrenberger representatives, the new President of Run Club Abuja, Buchi Onyegbule, the Sarkin Kutare of Alheri Village and Halimat Yusuf, the resident nurse at the Alheri Settlement Clinic among other notable community leaders.

Salisu Mohammed, the Youth Leader at the Leprosy Colony, expressed gratitude for the medical support, highlighting the community’s urgent need for better healthcare. Halimat Yusuf praised the initiative, emphasizing that the additional medical supplies and personnel would boost community confidence in the health facility and reduce self-medication.

Representing the Senior Management of Norrenberger, Oladimeji Adebo spoke about the significance of this CR&S initiative and Norrenberger’s commitment to giving back. “As a business passionate about unlocking opportunities in society, we believe that giving to communities in need is an integral part of who we are. We look forward to giving back through even more sustainable projects in the future.”

The President of the Run Club Abuja, Buchi Onyegbule expressed his pleasure at the privilege to impact the lives of the Alheri Village and called on the government to support communities like this on a larger scale.
